I have the most wishy-washy, rambling answers this week… apologies all around.
This morning Liam told me I was fired because I wouldn’t wipe his bottom, something he has no problem doing for himself most of the time but this morning it was a THING. We also had to go to school early because he forgot his homework folder last night and he had homework to do as he had “promised my teacher that I would do it and I can’t break my promise” [cue tears]. So that is the sort of morning we have had. The bright spot was his teacher telling me how polite he is always and what a sweetie he is, wonderful, apparently he doesn’t scream at her to wipe his butt otherwise I’m sure she would be of a different opinion.
1. Do you prefer to drive to your vacation spot or fly?
Before I ever flew to Texas I would have said road trip all the way but when you can reduce a 2-day, 20-hours worth of driving trip to 3.5 hours on a plane, you learn that flying has its perks. But I do still love a good road trip when time is not an issue. But for a one-week trip, I prefer to fly. I like to fly in theory, but in practice I rather hate all the little details and hassle of flying.
2. If you could live any where in the world, where would you go and why?
Um, I believe the obvious (and perhaps right answer) would be Australia. Imagining that we could love there and in Michigan equal parts of the year without school or cost being a pain, that would be ideal. But since we don’t have unlimited funds and I’m not into homeschooling, I think we’ll have to stick to Michigan for now. I love this state, despite the winters, it’s a wonderful place to live and it’s close to so many people we love.
3. Should grown women wear leggings?
If you have the legs for it, absolutely… For myself, not so much. Though I have worn leggings with a dress – that’s allowable (for me). Leggings with a crop top – not okay, unless of course you are a dancer, dancing in a studio and not going out in public. Because leggings are just slightly thicker tights without feet and you look ridiculous in them with a crop top – yes, you do. /opinion
4. If you could change your name to any other name, would you? And what would it be?
If I could change my name and take on that person’s life then perhaps I would consider a name change (though really, I wouldn’t give up my boys for anything so probably not). But it is sometimes appealing to be a movie star or powerful woman in business – but mostly for the perk of flying first class. In reality, I like my name and wouldn’t want to change it.
5. What magazines to you have subscriptions to?
Entertainment Weekly, Better Homes and Gardens, Rachael Ray Everyday and sometimes Cooking Light. I also get my college’s alumni magazine and The Banner which is a publication of the Christian Reformed Church – the denomination I grew up in (my mom signed me up).
Linking up with Mama M for Five Question Friday.
