Top Ten Things I Should Be Doing

  1. Making a to-do list (or five).
  2. Laying out a newsletter and/or a brochure.
  3. Responding to email (personal and work).
  4. Making an appointment to get a will written (for real – I KNOW this is something we need to do)
  5. Paying bills (personal and work).
  6. Spending time each day reading the Bible.
  7. Remembering to be thankful in all things.
  8. Drinking coffee or Diet Coke (always a given, but probably not a good idea because of the possible ulcer detail)
  9. Finishing something (I’m a starter).
  10. Showing others more grace.

It’s a Good, Good Life

Despite it being Monday, I’m in a thankful mood. We had a low-key but pretty great weekend! Here are some highlights:

  • We woke up Friday morning to find Liam had thrown up in the night and NEVER woke up. (this was obviously not a good highlight) But he never got sick again and wasn’t at all phased by what happened so all-in-all, I’d consider it a good thing. His pillow pet might not agree. Continue reading

Placing Trust

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,

Jeremiah 17: 7-8

Sibling Saturday

Both my boys resemble my husband but I don’t always think they look like each other but I’ve started seeing it more and more, especially when I look back at photos of Liam when he was younger. There is no doubt a familial connection, but it grows greater and more intense every day.

Above, Liam from three years ago (almost exactly) and, below, Jack from December 2010.

Heaven help me.

Five Question Friday

Happy Friday to everyone! Hope you have big plans for the weekend. Liam has a birthday party this afternoon and then tonight we are hanging out with friends. Tomorrow Simon’s going to Chicago to see Man U play the Chicago Fire (he’s a little excited, I’m less so) and the boys and I will be hanging out with some of our favorite people in the evening (THAT, I am excited about). Plus I cleaned the horror that is our basement last night and aside from 8 boxes of clothes and a bunch of baby toys that need to go in our MOPS consignment sale, it’s looking good – cross that one off the list!

1. If your husband had the BIG V and you got pregnant what would your first reaction be? For the dudes, what would your first reaction be if your wife told you she was pregnant after the Big V?
I would be surprised but not sad, I secretly would love a third child but know that Simon is not okay with that and I kind of need him to be on board with it. Now if it were Simon, he would be super ticked and not at all happy, that I can promise you. Especially because he hates it when something does not react the way it is supposed to – and that’s definitely an instance of something not doing its job!
